LEARN MOREMicroneedling is used to treat a variety of skin conditions that cause depressions in the skin such as acne scarring, surgical scars, other scars, burns, enlarged pores, wrinkles (rhytides), and stretch marks (striae).
Because microneedling does not deliver heat to the skin like lasers do, people who have melasma (dark patches of skin) and hyperpigmentation (dark spots on the skin) can undergo microneedling without the risk of worsening pigmentation problems. (Darker skin is susceptible to pigmentation changes as a post-inflammatory response.)
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, operates on a simple principle. By triggering the skin’s self-repair process with repeated micro-injuries it will remodel and rejuvenate your skin.
We use the SkinPen® as our microneedling device. This handheld device uses a series of 14 microneedles to start this process, in turn leading to the release of growth factors that help remodel your skin’s natural collagen and elastin content.
But what does this mean for your skin? In short, a lot!
By triggering this response, SkinPen® microneedling helps reduce the visible signs of aging, especially acne scars.

How does Skinpen work?
SkinPen® works by creating a series of hundreds of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier. SkinPen® needles cycle at 100+ stamps/second, potentially creating 1600+ microchannels per second when moving the SkinPen®.

What are the side effects of microneedling?
There are a few temporary side effects to be aware of with microneedling. The procedure causes short-term swelling, redness, and skin flaking, which can last for a few days. Most people can return to wearing regular makeup after 24 hours of treatment. Skin will be more sun-sensitive after treatment, so sunscreen is also advised.
Microneedling may worsen active breakouts, so people with active inflammatory acne or oral herpes should not be treated with microneedling until the lesions have cleared. Those with a history of oral herpes may usean oral antiviral medication for one week following treatment because the procedure may stimulate a new cold sore.

V2 Beauty Booster VS. Micro-Needling: What is the difference?
This is a common question a lot of patients inquire about and aren’t entirely sure which of the two is best suited for their skin concerns or what these treatment benefits are. Both the V2 Beauty Booster and micro-needling fall under the category of collagen induction therapy (CIT), these are non-invasive treatments that involve the repeated puncturing of the skin using very tiny, sterile needles. These controlled micro-injuries induce the production of collagen and elastin in the skin and are extremely beneficial for a variety of skin concerns.
The V2 Beauty Booster treatment is perfect for those looking for a powerful anti-aging treatment that delivers moisture and nutrients deep into the skin. Plumping & restoring this treatment also helps to minimize the appearance of dull, crepey skin and gives your face a fabulous dewy glow. The goal of the V2 Beauty Booster treatment is to completely blanket the face with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid (HA) creating tighter, firmer, glowing skin for our patients.
The V2 Beauty Booster
To do this approximately 3 ml of Redensity I is delivered through 100 microinjections. Ideal results will be achieved through 3 treatments with three to four weeks between each treatment. Once a full treatment protocol of 3 treatments have been completed a total of 9ml of Redensity I will have been delivered into the skin.
How does V2 Beauty Booster work?
The V2 Beauty Booster Treatment procedure consists of 9 needles at a depth of 1mm that injects the Teosyal Redensity I product into the skin in the form of a gun.
Teosyal Redensity I is a mix of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, amino acids, Vitamin B6 and antioxidants. One molecule of Hyaluronic acid holds 1000 times its weight in water therefore, this treatment is very hydrating for the skin. In addition to hydration, this collagen inducing treatment activates fibroblasts within the dermis making them lay down new collagen and elastin. This produces thicker, tighter, more elastic skin on the face, lower eyelid, forehead, neck, décolletage and hands.
This treatment is suitable for people of all ages, skin types, women and men. For people that are particularly concerned about pain a numbing cream can be applied to treatment prior to injection. Slight bleeding is expected during the Beauty Booster procedure. also note that it may take a couple weeks to see full results and more treatments may be required.
What results can you expect?
After one treatment using the V2 Beauty Booster you will start to see the skin plumping and filling, improved skin hydration and fewer fine lines and wrinkles. This is a versatile treatment that can be used to achieve tighter, firmer skin on the face, lower eyelid, forehead, hands, décolletage and neck recovery
After your treatment, you will likely notice slight bruising accompanied by mild redness. The swelling and bruising may take up to a couple weeks to fully dissipate. Some people experience a mild burning sensation directly after treatment. At the points of the injections, you may have small raised bumps that look similar to hives. These bumps usually disappear in the first few hours to few days. You should avoid exercise and makeup application for the first 24 hours following your Beauty Booster treatment.
Prior to Treatment
Avoid products that are known to increase bleeding for three days before your procedure, doing this will minimize the amount of bruising and inflammation you experience following your treatment.
Please avoid taking: non-Steroidal anti-inflammatories, aspirin, vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, and alcohol. Its encouraged to remain well-hydrated prior to the V2 Beauty Booster treatment, especially during the 24-hours before your appointment.
What to Expect
Both treatments are performed after applying a numbing cream the the treatment areas to eliminate discomfort.
With both of these treatments it is suggested to start out with a package of 3 treatments in order to start noticing some improvement in your skin and continue with 1 treatment every 6 months for maintenance. When it comes to collagen induction therapy it is important to keep in mind that collagen remodelling takes approximately 2-3 months. That being said, you will see slight improvements after 1 treatment but maximum results will occur at the 2-3 month mark and onwards if subsequent treatments were performed as suggested.
