Latisse

Latisse is an FDA-approved prescription eyelash growth treatment. It has been clinically studied and has demonstrated consistent eyelash growth.

It is administered by applying the solution to the base of your upper lashes every night. The formula does double duty by prolonging the active growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle and

increasing the number of eyelashes that are produced, resulting in gorgeous long, lush eyelashes. You will begin to see your lashes lengthen within 6 weeks or so, with optimal results visible around 16 weeks.

If you are interested in trying Latisse, please book a consultation with the Nurse so we can ensure that you are a good candidate and for us to show you how to use the product properly.

Common causes of eyelash loss:

  1. Aging and menopause often result in hormonal imbalances that can thin hair, eyebrows and lashes.
  2. Rough treatment like vigorous scrubbing and pulling while removing makeup
  3. Irritation or allergic reaction to mascara is sometimes the cause of eyelash loss. Because mascara hardens your lashes while you wear it, sleeping in mascara also increases the risk of eyelash breakage and shortening.
  4. Eyelash extensions use a medical grade glue to attach to your natural lashes, tugging them off rather than allowing them to fall out on their own can result in thinning lashes.
  5. Medical conditions such as blepharitis, thyroid imbalance, psoriasis or eczema can contribute to lashes falling out.
  6. Excessive stress sometimes results in hair and eyelash loss.
  7. Chemotherapy drugs can cause hair loss including the eyelashes.
  8. Any eye condition, such as dry eye, that makes you rub your eyes will contribute to lash loss and breakage.

How to prevent Eyelash Loss:

Keep your lashes healthy by washing your face and eyelids daily with gentle soap and water. Glands in the eyelid naturally lubricate lashes, so lotions and conditioners are not necessary.

Pay attention to your mascara expiry dates to avoid any bacterial infections. Mascara should be replaced every 3 months.

If you have persistent eye irritation, make an appointment to see your family doctor or eye specialist to rule out any medical causes.

Eat a healthy well balanced diet to provide your body with what it needs to keep your lashes growing.

Treatment for thinning Eyelashes:

If you have already made lifestyle and diet changes to protect your eyelashes but are not seeing them grow thicker or longer, Latisse Eyelash Treatment may be the solution that you are looking for.
