Dermal Filler - HA Gel or PRP

Dermal fillers restore your skin’s volume and erase the fine lines and wrinkles you may start seeing with age. They are also used to modify features to give you a more balanced look overall. Dermal fillers are injectable gels, made of hyaluronic acid; a natural substance found in the body that is essential to the fitness and smoothness of skin. At Skin Appeal we carry the world’s top dermal fillers Teosyal® + Juvéderm®.

What dermal fillers can do

  • Plump thin lips
  • Smooth out lines around nose and mouth ( a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parantheses)
  • Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks
  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars
  • Smooth out chin crease
  • Diminish vertical lip lines
  • Improve symmetry among facial features
  • Decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids

At Skin Appeal we use Teosyal & Juvederm Fillers

Teosyal and Juvederm contain hyaluronic acid (HA) of non-animal origin. Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the human body. When the HA gel is injected under your skin, it not only provides an immediate lift it also stimulates collagen production for longer lasting results.

Our HA fillers (Teosyal & Juvederm) are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment.

HA Fillers like Teosyal and Juvederm offer natural soft looking results.
These HA Fillers are dissolvable using a special enzyme. A consultation is important time to review goals and expectations so you are happy with your results. Dissolving the filler is not something we want to do but it is comforting to know that we can.

Is there a difference between fillers and Botox/Newtox?

Yes. They are very different from each other.

Neuromodulators like BOTOX and NEWTOX are injected into a muscle, temporarily blocking the communication between brain and the muscle. The muscle will not move without these messages, which allows the skin over it to smooth out. This is how neuromodulators can reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Typically the treatment areas are in the upper face, such as the forehead and around the eyes. Neuromodulators will not work on lines and wrinkles caused by sagging or loss of volume/plumpness in the face. These are known as static wrinkles. Static wrinkles include lines in the cheeks, neck, and jowl areas.

Dermal fillers are used to replace lost volume in the face typically in the lower part of such as cheeks, lips and jawline. Fillers plump and smooth areas that have flattened out over time. Botox & Newtox results last 3 to 4 months. Dermal filler results vary, depending on which filler is used.

Because neuromodulators (Botox, Newtox) and fillers (Juvederm & Teosyal) are different substances designed for different uses, they can sometimes be combined in one treatment. For instance, someone may use Botox to correct lines between the eyes and a filler to correct smile lines around the mouth. This is sometimes called a Softlift™
